WebMar 25, 2015 · There is an updated part from Cummins that reduces the temp swings. With a diesel, hotter is better (within reason). More temp in the cylinders means a more complete burn and better economy. I use a 195* thermostat for a 440 chrysler in mine. It fits and works with no temp swings.
