WebGreater Steps Scholars — formerly known as the Charlotte Housing Authority Scholarship Fund — was established in 1983 by the INLIVIAN Board of Commissioners and founded by Dr. John T. Crawford, a former INLIVIAN Youth Services Coordinator. WebGreater Steps Scholars works to help under-resourced youth living in Charlotte’s subsidized and public housing achieve their dreams of pursuing a post-secondary education. Through scholarships, our Mentor & Career Readiness Program, and other tools, we help disrupt the cycle of poverty and provide a way for students to climb up the economic ladder.
