All applicants must be under 50 years of age. No academic degree is required. If you are under 18, you must have permission from your parents. WebAnd btw, you typically can't just become a monk.. it's a pretty long process. It pretty much always involves everything I mentioned. AT least in the West.. in India, it might be different. Also, well there ARE programs out there that let you become a monk quickly. But, I'd shy away from them. They tend to be very big monasteries.
