Some people can simulate lacquer cracks with a very sharp hobby knife but its very hard to get it looking natural and can look really bad if not done right - thats more of a old nitro feature anyway but ti does happen on all finishes eventually. My default is now to look for nitro finish or assemble (I won't say build) and spray nitro as I just prefer the way they wear or respond to knocks. LOL.
